RespectFactor: Jonathan Coulton

February 6, 2008

coulton_250x.jpgWe respect Jonathan, because he is fun and talented. Many people start to learn his name once they get freaked on the song called “Still Alive“. Yes, his song composed as Portals ending theme is full of greatness, and everything else besides this lacks the ultimate fun and joy! I have to admit, this was my first “Coulton-experience“, but after finding out his name, and reading an interview one of our guys did with him for a monthly gamer magazine I work for in part-time, I’ve became a fan. I mean c’mon, who wouldn’t love a guy who’s making songs about office zombies eating brains, killer robot reigns, and doing an acoustic cover of “Baby Got back”? Anyways, maximum respect goes to Jonathan, who can also be chased down here on wordpress.com.

Subway scums…

February 6, 2008

I have to travel with the subway at least twice evey day… to get to work, and to get back. Of course it’s full of people everytime I board, what else should Murphy have for me? After all these years I’ve got used to the fact that it smells like fishermans nest down there… shame, but I can’t do anything else beside pretending to be nosedeaf. But the thing which just won’t fit into my tolerance list, are the people who stand right in the door at the station, not even giving you a chance to leave the train. They climb right into your face just to be the first ones getting on the coach. And not just the teens… no I’m also talking about the elders. I’m usually polite with them. If I see that they can barely stand I exchange my seat to their standing place. But when one of these grandmas start to push me back when I’m trying to get off, just to set her bottoms in horizontal position as fast as possible, zero tolerance fills my brain. I would mark them with a tattoo saying: “Never hand over your seat for me”. Everyone needs to learn politeness…

Domo kun is on the Japanese subway woohoo

Doomsday coming…

February 6, 2008

…at least to cinemas. There were quite a lot postapocaliptic stuff in theaters in the past few years… first there was the “Nature gets angry and kicks some human ass” related material like Armageddon, Deep Impact, The Day after Tomorrow and The Core (oh, and just to mention Sunshine… that was an impressive one actually). Now nature is boring, terrorists are vay too scary for the hollywoodian eyes… so what else is out there, that gives you the shivers? Humans… yes… Zombies, Vampires, VampireZombies, GotCancerButGotCuredVampireZombies… Infectedwithsomethingveryscientificzombieswhogetverypissedandangry. Yes… they are out there. We have Legends, 28 days and 28 weeks. Next comes the hostile Scotland filled with infected punks from a SexPistols videoshoot… It’s getting a bit boring now.

But then again, here we have M. Night Shabalamayalalalan (the guy whos name is almost impossible to pronounce), and his movie: The Happening. There are no zombies here (well at least the trailer didn’t show any of them) but we have some freaked out people killing themselves… The World is Turning EMO, and you can’t stop it! Pretty impressive stuff, and Mark “MaxPayne” Wahlberg is in the front lines to find out “what’s Happening?”
